An optimized digital ecosystem with Oracle to Salesforce migration for leading telecom company

About the Client

Our client is a US-based telecommunications company that specializes in providing software platforms, systems, and services to support the delivery of broadband services. They provide cloud, software platforms, systems and services to communications service providers.

Client Challenge

With hundreds of customers using their products across the world, the client was having inconsistencies with their order management, and they had trouble tracking the product data across their system. This often resulted in low efficiency, data mismatches and even missing entries. They also had to spend considerable time generating reports and hampered the way they made and managed their decisions. They needed to revamp their order processing system, make it more robust and straightforward and were looking for an experienced partner who was capable of data migration, integration and readiness.

Movate Solution

Movate’s team understood the need the client was facing and proposed the following scope of work:

  • Enable client’s innovation programs with digital solutions and services
  • Supported migration of the complete subscription orders (contracts) data from Oracle Fusion (Cloud-based) platform to SFDC
  • Identify missing data, ensure data completeness, and maintain the accuracy of subscription orders in the data platform
  • Optimize data flows and reduce query times to facilitate timely decision-making

The first step to the solution was to get to the heart of the problem. We proposed a data migration solution that also had data verification, readiness and QA check to ensure that nothing was missed or lost in translation. Movate, being a trusted Salesforce Partner could help the client customize the solution to their needs.

ORACLE FUSION TO SFDC TRANSFER

We extracted contracts data from their Oracle Fusion database, transformed, cleansed and integrated that with a Cloud-based SDFC using migration and validation rules. We ensured that there was no missing data, incomplete records and ensured data accuracy. Once the data transfer was complete, we ran data verification and integration tests by writing additional code and manually verifying and integrating data between multiple data sources. By cleaning up their database and integrating that with Salesforce, we revamped their order management process and made it more intuitive, response and fast – from order creation to deletion. The integration optimized data flows between various data entities which helped with reporting as the client could now reduce their query time for reports and get accurate data that helps them to make informed decisions.
