International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8th is a global occasion commemorating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. On the occasion of IWD 2025, Movate supported an inclusive eye screening camp held at Begumpet in Hyderabad, India, in collaboration with CBM India.
#AccelerateAction for eye care
Movate organized free eye screenings, consultations, and eyewear to those who otherwise might not have access to these services. Though the camp was specially catering to women, it was open for people from all walks of life. This initiative aimed to provide accessible eye care services to women by addressing their eye care needs and critical cases demanding surgeries.
Why eye care matters? Eye health is critical yet often overlooked, especially for people (LGBTQIA+) coming from the underserved communities. Undetected and untreated vision problems can significantly impair a woman’s ability to work, care for her family, and participate fully in society.
“Diversity, equality, and inclusivity are values deeply embedded in Movate’s corporate conscience. We have organized health assessment drives, eye screening camps, and surgeries when needed. Looking ahead, we plan to organize more camps and expand our initiatives.” – Anish Phillip, EVP and Chief People Officer, Movate

Envisioning a difference
The eye screening camp provided a range of services such as comprehensive eye exams, screening for common eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and the distribution of eyeglasses, referrals for further treatment when necessary.
Remarking on the camp, Sony Thomas, Executive Director of CBM India stated how vision care is a fundamental right, and this initiative ensures that people from marginalized communities have access to quality eye care, irrespective of gender identity or socioeconomic status. “Good vision is essential not just for daily activities but also for education, employment, and overall well-being,” remarked Mr. Thomas.
Supporting the community
Movate believes in giving back to the communities. This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting gender equality, improving access to healthcare, empowering individuals through better health, we are proud to have played a part in making a positive impact on the lives of women in Hyderabad.
Movate is committed to continuing its support for initiatives that promote health, well-being, and gender equality. We believe that by working together, we can create a brighter and more equitable future for all.
